AboutA note

A curated collection of beautiful everyday objects.

Position

Basho is not a gift shop. It is a small, carefully kept collection of objects — each chosen because of its character, its craftsmanship and its quiet beauty.

Our thinking is closer to a design gallery than a store. Every piece has been considered and photographed before it enters the collection. Nothing is stocked in numbers. Most objects are one of one.

We are quietly informed by Japanese ideas — wabi-sabi among them — without leaning on cliché or borrowed graphics. What we borrow is the disposition: restraint, attention, respect for material and use.

Photography

Photography is the brand.

Every object is photographed in the same room, in natural light, on a warm neutral ground. No styling. No props. The object is the picture.

Principles

  1. 01

Beautiful things don't need to be perfect.

  2. 02

    Objects improve with age.

  3. 03

Every piece has been chosen, not manufactured for a trend.

  4. 04

The photograph is as important as the object.

  5. 05

    One of one is enough.

Some objects are listed on Vinted.
